How do I decide on colour and style?

Modern advances in vinyl floor production have created an incredible variety of styles, colours and types to choose from. Whether you prefer traditional colours and styles, a high-end wood floor look, natural stone, or a marble finish, there is a style and colour to suit your home.

Remember that light coloured floors show more dirt than darker coloured floors so expect to do more everyday maintenance on a light coloured floor.

Our store has a wide range of catalogues and samples to choose from and we can help you design the best vinyl flooring solution for your home.

What do I need to know before buying?

  • Wear layer construction is key when purchasing vinyl flooring. The thickness of the wear layer placed on top of the inlaid chips, or the printed layer, varies and is measured in mils of thickness. More expensive vinyl floors have thicker wear layers.
  • Urethanes have become the wear layer of choice.
  • Lower priced vinyl have a PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) wear layer, which will protect the underlying pattern from normal household wear, but will stain more easily and removing dirt and scuff marks will be more difficult.
  • Determine whether your vinyl floor must withstand light, medium, or heavy household traffic before deciding on wear layer thickness.
